We invite you to present at the 2012 Climbing Wall Summit. Strengthen the climbing wall industry by sharing your expertise in climbing wall operation, business growth, risk management, or innovation. This year, we’ll augment highly relevant, quality Workshops and Sessions with separate Product Presentations from leading industry vendors.

Conference Sessions

Conference sessions will be 75 minutes in length, May 18th-19th, and cover topics from climbing wall operations and administration to risk management and current issues to programming and marketing . Applications will be accepted on a rolling basis until session spaces are filled. Selection will begin January 31, 2012. Please call us if you have questions.

Product Presentations

New this year, Product Presentations will help attendees stay abreast of relevant goods and services available, differentiate between offerings and meet vendors. Scheduled to not overlap with sessions and workshops, Product Presentations are given exclusively by industry leaders who Sponsor and Exhibit to make possible this Summit. Proposals Due: March 1st.

  • Partnerships with Clients or other Vendors
  • Product Usage Ideas

Pre-Conference Workshops

Pre-conference Workshops are intended to provide in-depth, interactive training in a given area of climbing wall operation and will be offered in a half-day, full-day or multi-day formats May 16th-17th, 2012. Pre-conference workshops may be longer than one day, if necessary, but must conclude prior to the conference opening the evening of on May 17, 2012. Proposals Due: CLOSED.

  • Climbing Wall Instructor Training and Certification (CWI)
  • CWI Provider Training
  • Route Setting + Vertical Work Safety
  • Climbing Wall Manager Training
  • New Business Development + Facility Start-Up
  • Legal + Risk Management Planning
  • Equipment inspection + maintenance
  • Safety + Emergency Response
  • (NO marketing or sales pitches)

Format

Content may be presented in a variety of formats: educational, informational, activity/skill, lecture, round table discussion, panel discussion, etc. Proposals should address the needs and interests of various segments of the climbing wall industry and use formats geared toward both the topic and audience.

Venue

Conference sessions will be held in the University Memorial Center (UMC) at the University of Colorado Boulder. The UMC has several conference rooms available for Pre-conference Workshops, Conference Sessions, and Product Demos. Boulder also offers world-class indoor and outdoor rock climbing venues for pre-conference workshops that require an on-site setting.
